About the Author
Sharon Baugh
Sharon Baugh is an educator, mentor, storyteller, and lifelong believer in the power of
imagination, integrity, and compassion. Raised by hardworking parents who instilled in her the
importance of honesty, kindness, responsibility, and truthfulness, Sharon carried those values
throughout her life and professional journey. Her father, a fisherman and natural storyteller,
inspired her love for storytelling from an early age, while her mother encouraged her curiosity
and passion for learning.
Sharon knew she wanted to become a teacher from the time she was just six years old. Her passion
for education and helping young people led her to pursue a lifelong career dedicated to
learning, leadership, and mentorship. Beginning her educational journey at community college
through scholarships and work-study programs, she later earned her Bachelor of Science in
Education with an emphasis on Physical Education from Western Oregon University.
Over the course of her remarkable career, Sharon served in nearly every area of education from
elementary school classrooms to high school counseling and middle school leadership. She later
earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling and spent years helping students navigate challenges
both academically and emotionally. Her dedication, fairness, and strong leadership eventually
led her into school administration, where she became a respected middle school principal known
for her integrity, discipline, compassion, and commitment to student success.
Even after retiring from public education, Sharon continued finding ways to teach and inspire
others. From educational counseling and national academic testing programs to mentoring students
and eventually becoming a certified golf instructor, teaching has remained a central part of her
life.
The inspiration behind The Adventures of Amber and Emory came from the special bond Sharon
shared with Lucas, a curious 3-year-old who loved to hear stories. His imagination, excitement,
and love for storytelling helped bring the characters and their adventures to life. Through her
storytelling, Sharon hopes to encourage children to stay curious, embrace imagination, explore
the outdoors, ask questions, and value kindness, friendship, and family.
Today, Sharon combines her lifelong passion for education, storytelling, sports, and adventure
into stories that inspire children and families to dream bigger, explore further, and create
meaningful memories together.
